Edcouch- Octaviano Villanueva, 99, passed away to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

Mr. Villanueva was born on March 22, 1921 to Mr. Bernardo Villanueva & Mrs. Bernadina Gonzalez Villanueva in Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Maria Francisca Villanueva; his son Frank Villanueva; his daughter-in-law: Ester Villanueva; his sons-in-law: Jose Morales & Joe Daniel Rodriguez; his brothers: Pedro Villanueva & Luterio Villanueva and his sisters: Elsa Villanueva & Torfulia Villanueva.

Left to cherish Mr. Octaviano Villanueva memories are his sons: Ed (Ferminia) Villanueva, Victor Villanueva, Joe (Yolanda) Villanueva, Albino (Jean) Villanueva, Omero Villanueva, Adolfo (Romana) Villanueva, Filiberto Villanueva; his daughters: Petra Morales, Ester Franks, Emilia Rodriguez, Altagracia Annie (Robert) Bailey, Elida (Arturo) Salinas; his brothers: Tomas Villanueva & Felipe Villanueva; his sisters: Benita Villanueva, Fabia Villanueva, Burna Villanueva; 33 grandchildren, Numerous Great-Grandchildren & Great- Great Grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Villanueva is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2020, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2020, at 10:00 am at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Elsa. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

Due to the current limitations of Hidalgo County and the State of Texas, Salinas Funeral Home is only allowing up to 85 guest in our facility at a time, guest must comply with the social distancing of six feet of space between sitting and standing and must have a facial covering at all times while inside the building. Family and friends may have to rotate to allow others to enter. Please be cautious of your health and the health of others. Thank you for your understanding.

As per the families request, Mr. Villanueva's favorite color was Red, so they are asking if guest can please wear that color in memory of him on Thursday and Friday the day of the funeral service.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
