Adelina G. Cortez

Brownsville - Adelina G. Cortez, 67, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Valley Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Cortez was born December 15, 1953, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, daughter of Fructoso Guerra and Eva Pizana. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Oliverio Cortez; children, Dr. Diana H. Cortez (Rigoberto Bocardo Jr.), Oliverio Cortez Jr. (Renee Zieglar), Irene G. Cortez (Jose Garcia Jr.), Jesus A. Cortez (Kimberly Hernandez); brothers Isidoro Guerra, Fructoso Guerra Jr., Adan Guerra, Enrique Guerra, Ramon Guerra, David Guerra, Manuel Guerra; sisters, Eva Castillo, Otila De La Fuente, Raquel Romero, Alma Rosa Rodriguez. Also surviving her are 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. Viewing will resume Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rose Lawn Burial Park.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
