Yolanda Garcia Ovalle

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Yolanda Garcia Ovalle, who left us gently on September 2, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on May 18, 1953, in Raymondville, Texas, Yolanda lived a life full of love, laughter, and the joy of family. A resident of Brownsville, Texas, she embraced every moment, cherished her family, and had a special fondness for shopping, spending time with her grandkids, and singing her heart out during karaoke nights.

Yolanda was not just a mother and grandmother; she was the vibrant thread that wove her family together. She is survived by her beloved son, Cayetano Ovalle III (Jennifer), and daughter, Gisela Ovalle (Rey). Yolanda held a deep bond with her mother, Sofia Garcia, and her siblings-Jaime, Arturo, Roberto, Juan Rene, Blanca, Neri, Maria Jesus, and Inelda who will miss her dearly.

Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Yolanda's life. A public viewing will be held at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville on September 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited in her honor at the same location, beginning at 7:00 PM.

Yolanda will be laid to rest on September 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Rio Grande Valley Veterans State Cemetery, where she will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
