With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of William Craig Burton, who entered into eternal rest on July 24, 2026, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 73.

William was born on May 19, 1953, in Buffalo, New York, to Frances Gregory Burton and Ruth M. Heck. Throughout his life, William was known for his kind heart, unwavering strength, and the genuine love he shared with those around him. He lived a life centered on family, loyalty, and compassion, leaving behind countless memories that will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to know him.

William found his greatest joy in his family. He shared 25½ wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Tena Gayle Burton, whose love and companionship were the foundation of a life filled with happiness, laughter, and unwavering devotion. He was a proud and loving father who cherished every moment spent with his children and took immense pride in watching his family grow. His wisdom, gentle guidance, and caring spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frances Gregory Burton and Ruth M. Heck.

William leaves behind to cherish his precious memory his loving wife Tena Burton; his daughters, Jennifer Wolf (James) and Melissa Phalen; his sons, Kevin Amos and Tom Amos (Alyssa); and eight cherished grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He also leaves behind his faithful canine companions, Grater and Murphy, who were a constant source of comfort, companionship, and unconditional love.

William will be remembered for his generous heart, his quiet strength, and the unconditional love he gave so freely to his family and friends. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and words of comfort extended to them during this difficult time.

As per his wishes, Mr. William Craig Burton will be cremated at a later date.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
