Teresa Zapata

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa Zapata, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on April 5, 2026, in Donna, Texas, at the age of 90. Teresa was born on October 24, 1935, in Matahuala San Luis Potosi Mexico, and her spirit and love for family have touched the lives of many throughout her remarkable journey.

Teresa was known for her nurturing heart and unwavering commitment to her family. She delighted in taking care of her children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love, strength, and resilience. Her legacy will be carried on by her devoted husband, Candelario Zapata, and her children, Reysel Zapata, Noe Zapata, Adan Zapat, Moises Zapata, Ludivina Z. Aguilar, Elva Emma Lopez Zapata, Rosalba Zapata, and Eva Valles, who hold dear the countless memories they created together. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandaugter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Isidro Perez and Susana Lopez; one son, Efrain Lopez.

Friends and family are invited to honor Teresa's life during a viewing that will take place at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a funeral service to start at 1:00 PM. Following the service, we will gather for her burial at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 3:00 PM.

As we come together to reflect on Teresa's beautiful life, we celebrate her warmth, compassion, and the indelible mark she left on each of our hearts. Her spirit will forever resonate in the stories we share and the love that continues to bind us as a family. Rest in peace, Teresa; you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Teresa Zapata, una querida esposa, madre, abuela y amiga, quien partió en paz de este mundo el 5 de abril de 2026 en Donna, Texas, a la edad de 90 años.

Teresa nació el 24 de octubre de 1935 en Matahuala, San Luis Potosí, México. A lo largo de su extraordinaria vida, tocó los corazones de muchos con su bondad, fortaleza y amor incondicional por su familia.

Fue conocida por su corazón noble y su gran dedicación hacia sus seres queridos. Teresa encontraba su mayor alegría en cuidar de sus hijos y nietos, inculcándoles valores de amor, fortaleza y unión que perdurarán por generaciones.

Le sobreviven su amado esposo, Candelario Zapata, y sus queridos hijos: Reysel Zapata, Noe Zapata, Adan Zapata, Moises Zapata, Ludivina Z. Aguilar, Elva Emma Lopez Zapata, Rosalba Zapata y Eva Valles. También deja 25 nietos, 15 bisnietos y una tataranieta, quienes conservarán su memoria por siempre en sus corazones.

Le preceden en la muerte sus padres, Isidro Perez y Susana Lopez, así como su hijo, Efrain Lopez.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a honrar la vida de Teresa durante la velación que se llevará a cabo en Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Capilla de Gracia el jueves 9 de abril de 2026, de 11:00 a.m. a 12:30 p.m., con un servicio funerario a las 1:00 p.m. Posteriormente, se realizará el sepelio en Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery a las 3:00 p.m.

Al reunirnos para recordar su hermosa vida, celebramos su calidez, compasión y el legado de amor que deja en cada uno de nosotros. Su espíritu vivirá por siempre en los recuerdos que compartimos y en el amor que nos une como familia.

Descanse en paz, Teresa Zapata. Será profundamente extrañada y siempre recordada.
