With profound sorrow yet deep gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Sharon K. Canamore, who departed this world peacefully at her residence on April 10, 2026. Born on October 25, 1945, in Pekin, Illinois, Sharon's journey was marked by unwavering faith, boundless compassion, and a heart devoted to service.
Sharon was more than just a devoted missionary; she was a beacon of light to many, having been faithfully dedicated to the teachings she embraced at the Rio Grande Bible Institute. Her life was a testament to the virtues of love, sacrifice, and humility. Described by her beloved husband, Carlos Canamore, as "spicy," Sharon's spirit was vibrant and colorful. She was remarkably giving and loving, treating all whom she met with the same kindness and respect as she would have her own family. Her sacrificial nature meant she often placed the needs of others above her own, embodying a servant's heart that remained faithful to God and her church throughout her life. Each day began with her prayers, a sacred ritual that anchored her devotion and guided her steps.
In her home and community, Sharon was treasured not only for her spiritual commitment but also for the warmth and joy she spread through her talents and hobbies. She was an accomplished seamstress, with a love for sewing that reflected her creative spirit. Her culinary skills were legendary, especially her renowned Mexican rice and salsa, which left a lasting impression on all fortunate enough to share a meal with her. Nature too found a special place in her heart; she tended lovingly to her bird feeder, ensuring her feathered friends were always nourished.
Sharon was blessed with a rich family life. Surviving her is her devoted husband, Carlos Canamore, with whom she shared many cherished years. She is also deeply mourned by her daughters, Karla Ravis, Ingrid (Dugne) Dishman, and Shawnda (Angel) Echenique. Her legacy flourishes through nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each a reflection of her love and guidance. Sharon's familial embrace extended beyond her immediate kin, as many children in the valley regarded her as their own grandmother, a testament to her generous and nurturing spirit. She is further survived by her sister, Patricia Louise Seyller.
We also remember her late parents, David Vaniah McIntire and Myrle Edwina McIntire, who preceded her in death, their memory carried lovingly by all who knew them.
A viewing and prayer service to honor Sharon's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Iglesia Bautista La Puerta Abierta located (401 S. Milanos Road, Weslaco, TX.) The viewing will begin at 4:00 PM and continue until 9:00 PM, with a prayer service commencing at 7:00 PM. As Per her wishes, Mrs. Canamore will be cremated at a later date.
Sharon K. Canamore's life was an exquisite tapestry woven from threads of faith, love, and selfless devotion. Her passing leaves a silent void, yet her memory will forever inspire those who were graced by her presence. In remembering Sharon, we celebrate a woman whose heart was as expansive as the heavens and whose legacy of kindness will endure through generations. May her soul find eternal peace in the loving embrace of the Divine she so faithfully served.
