Sara Lara

Mercedes- Sara Lara, 68, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Mrs. Lara was born on April 18, 1957 to Mr. Benito Zamora and Mrs. Claricia Escandon in Mercedes, Texas.

Mrs. Lara is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Benito Zamora and Mrs. Claricia Escandon and her sister, Alma Gloria Zamora.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Juan Benito Zamora, Jose Luis Zamora; her daughter, Marcelina Sosa; her brothers, Juan Benito (Nelda) Zamora, Heriberto Zamora, Bernardo (Michelle) Zamora; her sisters, Mary Jane Zamora, Andrea (Juan Reyes) Zamora, Elsie (Roy) Rodriguez; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Visitation for Mrs. Sara Lara is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Elsa. As per her wishes, she will be cremated at a later date at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Crematory in Donna.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
