It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa C. Rubio, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on September 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Rosa was born on August 30, 1944, and spent her life in the warm embrace of her community in Elsa, Texas, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.
Rosa was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her sons, Severino (Norm) Rubio Jr., Silvestre (Lily) Rubio, Diego (Iris) Rubio, Rodrigo (Martha) Rubio, and Sergio (Veronica) Rubio, as well as her cherished daughters Sylvia (Bense) Bernal, Lupita (Mike) Espinoza, Maria Gloria (+Richard) Rubio, and Imelda (Martin) Leyva. To her family, Rosa was not just a mother but a source of strength and joy, whose laughter and love will echo in their hearts forever.
Rosa was known for her compassion and selflessness, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, warmth, and delicious home-cooked meals that brought family and friends together. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will continue to inspire generations.

Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating her life. A Rosary will be held on September 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Heavens, where all are welcome to come together to share memories and offer their condolences. A public viewing will take place at the same location beginning at 3:00 PM and ends at 9 PM.
A Mass in her honor will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa on September 4, 2026, at 2:30 PM, providing an opportunity for everyone to pay their respects and reflect on the profound impact she had on their lives. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park, where a burial service will take place at 3:30 PM.
In these moments of sorrow, let us remember Rosa with a smile, for she would have wanted us to celebrate her life and carry her spirit forward in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
