It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Roberto Pequeño, aged 64, who departed this life peacefully on February 22, 2026. Born on August 11, 1961, in Weslaco, Texas, Roberto lived a life steeped in love, family, and the kindness that defined his character.
Roberto is preceded in death by his parents, Santos Pequeño and Concepcion De Leon; two brothers, Guadalupe Pequeño and Santos Pequeño.
He will be lovingly remembered by his cherished wife, Idalia Pequeño, who stood by his side through life's journey, sharing laughter, love, and countless memories that will eternally echo in the hearts of all who knew him. The bond they shared exemplified a partnership of mutual respect and unwavering support, a true testament to their love.
He is also survived by his wonderful children, Roberto C. Pequeño (Angelica), Jose H. Pequeño, Catalina D. Pequeño (Aziz Mohammadi) and Karina Soto (Jaimie H.); his four brothers, Juan Pequeño, Jose Pequeño,Miguel Pequeño, Santos Pequeño, Jr.; three sisters, Margarita Garcia, Elida Fernandez, Sanjuanita Rios and nine grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Roberto's life during the following ceremonies. A public viewing will be held at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Rosary. A 10:00 AM Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna, TX on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, a time for reflection and remembrance of the life that Roberto lived so fully. He will be laid to rest in the Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the Mass.
Roberto Pequeño touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. As we gather to honor his memory, let us reflect on the joy he brought into our lives and the loving legacy he leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Roberto; you will forever remain in our hearts.
