Richard M Foster

Richard Murray Foster went home to be with The Lord on August 6, 2026. He was born to the late Elmer Murray Foster and Margorie Ann Reed on November 8, 1937. He started his life in a log cabin with no modern facilities. He met his wife, Arlee Fitzlafi, 22 years ago. Richard affectionately gave Lee the nickname,

"Tinkerbell", because she "flitted" around so much. They spent 17 years married before his passing. They lived their entire marriage by "The Book", knowing that we all have a begin date and an end date with only God knowing when our final day will be.

Richard was father to Steven, Robert, Dale Foster, and Patricia Davis. He was brother to Margene Snapp. He also had half siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arlee's children, Micheal, Julie, and Timothy also thought very highly of him.

Richard started driving his father's tractor at the age of 7. At the age of 11, he drove his grandfather's truck full of cabbage to the train for delivery.

Richard rode a mule to school. He was a 1955 graduate of Hermantown High School and graduated from The University of Minnesota-Duluth. Richard was in the military Army Reserves for 30 years and left with the rank of Captain.

Among the many hats Richard wore in his life, he was a salesman for International Harvester- Truck Division for 20 years. He was also the Founder and CEO of Power Transmission Inc in Duluth for 25 years. He was also past President of Skyline Rotary Club and The Drift Toppers Snowmobile Club and a member of The Knights of Columbus.

In his 60's, Richard began doing athletic events. He participated in approximately 85 events including marathons, where he was in the Clydesdale Division due to his size, bike-a-thons, triathions and Ironman.

Richard lived with his wife, Lee, aka Tinkerbell, in Greenville, Wisconsin from 2004 to 2023. In 2023, they moved permanently to Edcouch, Texas where he enjoyed playing his favorite game, Cribbage, whenever he could.

Richard lived a great and varied life before he went home to be with the Lord.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas.
