It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Richard Alvarez, who left us peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on June 22, 1983, in Weslaco, Texas, Richard was a beloved devoted father, brother, uncle and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

He will be forever remembered by his beloved sons, Richard Alvarez, Jr., Julian Alvarez and Evan Josiah Alvarez, his father, Hilario Alvarez Sr.; his mother, Lina Alvarez; his two brothers, Hilario Alvarez, Jr. & Steven Alvarez. His family was the center of his world and will carry his memory in their hearts for years to come.

Richard has touched countless lives throughout his journey, and as we gather to honor him, we celebrate the beautiful legacy he leaves behind-one filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. It is in sharing these memories that we find comfort and strength as we reflect on the life of this extraordinary man.

In loving remembrance of Richard a Public Viewing will be held at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a 6:00 Prayer Service, providing a space for friends and family to come together in prayer and reflection.

A 2:00 PM Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of Grace, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Richard's life and the profound impact he made on all who knew him. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, TX.
