Premont- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Reuben Edward Champion Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a patriot, who left this world on January 12, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 21, 1945, in the sun-kissed town of Mercedes, Texas, he lived a life marked by generosity, valor, and a commitment to his family and community.
Reuben's legacy is one of service; he honorably served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he was bestowed with the Distinguished Flying Cross award for his extraordinary courage and commitment.
