Rebeca Gutierrez Olivares

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Rebeca Olivares, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, who departed this life on December 7, 2025, in her home in Alamo, Texas. Born on May 12, 1943, in Brownsville, Texas.

Rebeca will be dearly remembered by her family and friends for her unwavering kindness, compassionate spirit, and the strength she exuded in both her personal and professional life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Gutierrez & Corlota Costilla.

Rebeca is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ricardo Olivares; two sons, Ricardo R. Olivares (Amy Guerra); Daniel D. Olivares (Teresa T.) & one daughter, Marisa Lynn Olivares. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ricardo J. Olivares (Jessica), Clarissa M. Gutierrez (Alex), Dr. Victoria Lynn Olivares (Jason Milligan); four great-grandchildren, Lilah Olivares, Ricardo Anthony Olivares, Roque Jon Olivares, Jett Gutierrez; her beloved pets, Ninja & Cowboy.

In celebration of Rebeca's life and the lasting impact she made on those around her, family and friends are invited to attend a series of ceremonies to honor her legacy. A public viewing will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, starting at 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary.

A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mercedes, where all are welcome to come together in prayer and remembrance.

Rebeca's earthly journey will conclude with her interment at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Donna, TX. This final farewell will provide an opportunity for all who knew her to honor her life and the joy she brought to so many.

As we remember Rebeca Olivares, let us carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and service to others. She will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
