Ramon Cantu

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ramon Cantu, 83, a cherished husband, father, and friend. Born on April 6, 1942, in Mercedes, Texas, Ramon left this world peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 83, after a life imbued with love, hard work, and determination.

Ramon is survived by his beloved wife, Lucia Cantu; his devoted children, San Juana Ledesma; Fidencio Cantu, Imelda Cantu (Florente Loredo), Ramon Cantu, Jr., Irma Perez (Agustin), Franco Cantu (Priscilla). His legacy will live on in the love they shared and the memories they created as a family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ramon's life during a viewing that will be held Saturday, January 3, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM & Sunday, January 4, 2025 at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens with a 7:00 PM Rosary both nights.

An 10:00 AM funeral service will follow on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes, TX. Interment will follow at Campacuas Cemetery in Mercedes, TX, where we will lay Ramon to rest with the dignity he so richly deserves. As we bid farewell, let us remember Ramon not only for his hardworking nature but also for the joy he brought into our lives. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain a part of us.

In honoring Ramon Cantu, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, courage, and unwavering dedication to family. May he rest in eternal peace.
