Oscar Villarreal Jr., affectionately known as "Chore," left us far too soon, passing away on April 6, 2026, in Edinburg, TX. Born on February 24, 2004, in Weslaco, TX, Oscar brought light and warmth into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. With his kind heart, beautiful smile, and outgoing spirit, he was a true friend to many and a beacon of joy to his family.
Oscar’s passions were as vibrant as his personality. He found great happiness riding his motorcycle, feeling the open road beneath him and the wind as his companion. His love for race cars mirrored his energetic and adventurous soul, always eager to experience the thrill of speed and freedom. These hobbies weren't just pastimes; they were expressions of his lively spirit and zest for life.
Surviving Oscar are those who cherished him deeply and who now carry the heaviness of his absence in their hearts. His father, Oscar Villarreal, and mother, Raquel Reyes, stand as pillars of strength despite their profound grief. His brothers, Eric and Angel Villarreal, miss their companion and confidant. The love and memories shared with his paternal grandparents, Candelario and Noemi Villarreal, and his maternal grandfather, Ernesto Reyes, Jr., remain treasured sources of comfort amid sorrow. Alongside them are numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, all united in remembrance of “Chore” and the unique warmth he brought to their family.
Oscar was also preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandmother, Adela Reyes, whose memory he surely carried in his heart.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
In every smile, every laugh, and every brave twist of the throttle on his motorcycle, Oscar’s vibrant essence will be keenly felt. Though his journey here was brief, the impact of his kindness, his spirit of adventure, and his love for those around him will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing him. Oscar Villarreal Jr. may have departed this world too young, but his story lives on in every life he touched.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
