Edcouch-Oscar Aurelio Marroquin, a cherished soul and devoted family man, passed from this world to the next on February 1, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on August 24, 1963, in Edinburg, Texas, Oscar touched the lives of countless individuals with his warmth, compassion, and infectious spirit.
Throughout his life, Oscar exemplified the values of love and kindness, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to his family. He was a proud father to his beloved children, Oscar Alexander Marroquin, Dr. Crystal Giovanna Marroquin, and Katy Grace Marroquin. His love for them was profound, and he reveled in the moments spent together, embracing every opportunity to create lasting memories. Additionally, Oscar found joy in the company of his mother, Enriqueta R. Marroquin, and his sister, Sandra (Estevan Jr.) Ramirez, both of whom were not only family but also close confidantes and friends.
Oscar's personality shone brightly in all his undertakings. A caring and compassionate individual, he endeared himself to many, earning a reputation as a friend to many. His passion for life was evident in his hobbies; whether it was hunting, golfing, or simply immersing himself in the great outdoors, Oscar found solace and happiness in nature's embrace.
Academically and athletically accomplished, Oscar proudly achieved the distinction of being a four-year All-American football player and earned his degree from Sul Ross State University. These achievements remain a testament to his dedication and hard work, qualities that inspired those around him.
Oscar's legacy continues through the loving memories held by his family and friends. He is also survived by the indelible presence of his deceased father, Ramon C. Marroquin, and his sister, Ernestina "Tina" Gonzalez, both of whom will be remembered fondly.
To celebrate the life and spirit of Oscar Aurelio Marroquin, family and friends will gather for a viewing on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Chapel of the Angels in Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa. A heartfelt Rosary service will follow at 7:00 PM. The following day, a Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Monte Alto, Texas at 10:00 AM, leading to his interment at Chavez Cemetery in La Sara at 11:00 AM.
Oscar Aurelio Marroquin's journey on this earth may have ended, but his spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
