Mireya Ortiz

Mireya J. Ortiz, born on May 17, 1975, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, was a cherished member of her family and community who passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. Her legacy continues through her loving family and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

Mireya is survived by her devoted husband, Gabriel Rojas Ortiz, and their two beloved sons, Gabriel Ortiz Jr. and Jorge Armando Ortiz. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Joaquina Vargas, and her father, Mario Gonzalez. Additionally, Mireya was a loving sister to her brothers, Mario Alberto Gonzalez, Arturo Gonzalez, and Jose Luis Vargas, as well as her sister, Nayeli Vargas Almendariz. The joy in her life also came from her grandchildren, Benjamin Villegas, Axel Medina, and Izzy Esme Ortiz, who enriched her days with love and laughter.

Mireya was also preceded in death by her cherished grandchildren, Eddy Noel Ortiz, Mia Yvette Ortiz, and Messiah Alexander Ortiz, who brought her immense joy during their short time in this world.

Mireya will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and unwavering strength. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.

A viewing will be held in Mireya's honor on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, TX 78599. A Rosary will follow from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM the same evening at the same location.

The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, followed by the interment at Weslaco City Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

Mireya's life was one of love and devotion, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
