Minerva Solis, 72, passed away to be with the Lord on October 1, 2025 at All Seasons Hospice Inpatient Unit in San Antonio, TX.
Minerva was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who went above and beyond for all those around her. She loved children deeply and dedicated her life's work to a meaningful career as a paraprofessional. In 1975, she married her soulmate, Jose Daniel Solis, and together they grew their family, creating countless cherished memories along the way.
Minerva believed wholeheartedly in the importance of family. She welcomed everyone with open arms, always giving back and offering help whenever she could. She was incredibly generous-whether it was through a warm meal, a thoughtful gesture, or simply showing up when someone needed her most, Minerva gave of herself freely and without hesitation.
To many, she will be fondly remembered for the delicious cakes she baked for every special occasion. She especially loved Christmas and made each holiday season magical for her grandchildren through the beautiful décor she put up in her home.
Beyond her warmth, Minerva was known for her quick wit and playful sarcasm that could make anyone laugh. She had a way of delivering clever remarks with perfect timing, often lightening the mood and bringing joy to those around her.
Minerva Solis is preceded in death by her parents, German Del Toro & Tomasa Hernandez; one brother, Herman Del Toro & one sister, Estella Del Toro.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Daniel Solis; one son, Jose Daniel Solis, Jr.; one daughther, Stephanie Danielle Solis; two brothers, Fernando Del Toro, Armando Del Toro; three sisters, Elva Gonzalez, Eva Flores & Sylvia Del Toro. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brooklyn Solis, Kalista Solis, Landon Solis & Chloe Solis.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 3:00 PM -9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of The Heavens with a 6:00 PM Rosary. A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
Minerva will be deeply missed, and her memory lives on through the everlasting love she shared with others, as well as the selflessness and unwavering devotion she instilled in her family.
