Mcallen, Texas - Mercedes De La Garza, 80, passed away to be with the Lord on July 30, 2025 at her residence. Mrs. De La Garza was born on April 3, 1945

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Federico De La Garza; two brothers, Herman Garcia, Daniel Garcia; one granddaughter, Maria Mercedes Maldonado & one great-grandchild, Baby Dangeun Oh.

Mercedes De La Garza is survived by three sons, Juan Manuel Maldonado, Juan Marcos Maldonado, Reynaldo Lopez (Tere); three daughters, Karmina Viillarroel (Manuel), Teresita Gonzalez (Francisco), Marta Salinas (Jose); two brothers, Guillermo Tellez, Juan Fidel Garcia; four sisters, Yolanda Vargas, Hortencia Mata, Mary Gracia & Alicia Cisneros. Also survivng are 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandson.

A Memorial Service for Mercedes De La Garza is scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of Grace with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Crematory.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
