Mario B. Rodriguez

April 16, 1953 — March 2, 2026

Our father, Rev. Mario Rodriguez passed away surrounded by his children and loved ones on March 2, 2026 in Harlingen Texas. A man of faith, he has spent his life serving others as a devoted United Methodist Elder and a retired Chaplain. He has been a source of comfort, guidance, and hope to countless people in his community and his sermons have inspired faith, his visits have brought healing, and his prayers have lifted spirits during difficult times.

Our father was an avid reader, amazing story teller and loved making people laugh. He was a creature of habit and discipline with his daily walks when he was well and frequented many local restaurants where he earned the love and respect of the owners and patrons a like. He was most proud of his children, 4 grandchildren and had an eternal love for all of his family.

Mario is preceded in death by his parents, Hector Rodriguez and Consuelo Bernal; one brother, Tito Rodriguez.

He is survived by his son, Nathan Rodriguez (Allicia), Damaris Rodriguez Nicholson (Jason); one brother, Jose Homero Rodriguez; two sisters, Maria Pequeño and Elva Rodriguez. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Ileana Nicholson, Matthew Nicholson, Cristian Rodriguez and Joaquin Rodriguez.

Vistitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Faith with a Prayer Service starting at 4:00 PM.

As per Mr. Mario Rodriguez's wishes he will be cremated at a later date.
