Donna- With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Mario Alberto Martinez, a devoted father and proud American patriot. Born on March 13, 1966, in McAllen, Texas, Mario departed this life on March 12, 2026, just one day shy of his 60th birthday. His journey was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, country, and personal passions.
Mario was a man of few words yet immense love. Quiet and serious in demeanor, he carried within him a great kindness and a strong spirit. His hands, skilled and steady, bore witness to a lifelong vocation as a truck driver, a trade he embraced with grit and perseverance. Known as the family mechanic and a jack of all trades, Mario could repair anything placed before him. Whether restoring his cherished Corvettes or tuning his beloved Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, his hands expressed the artistry and passion that defined much of his life. Time spent fishing and tending to the barbecue grill were among the simple pleasures he loved, moments that reflected his grounded nature and devotion to those he held dear.
A proud veteran, Mario served honorably in the United States Navy, a testament to his patriotism and commitment to his country. His legacy of strength and resilience were also evident in the way he faced life's challenges, always with a steady heart and steadfast resolve.
Mario's greatest joy was undoubtedly his family. He was deeply loved by his daughters: April Alma Anne Forester (Trevor), Leeanne Colleen Martinez Rubalcava (James), Diamond Danielle Martinez (Zach Smith), and Heaven Alita Martinez; as well as the mother of his children, Annabelle G. Martinez; his son, Jonathan Lopez; and partner, Martina Veronica Zuniga. Mario's adoration extended to his cherished grandchildren: Sonnie Ann Smith, Inara Josefina Forester, Elric Hayden Forester, and Alaric Alberto Forester, who carry forward his legacy in their hearts.
The memory of Mario is also entwined with that of his beloved parents, Juan G. Martinez and Felipa Solis, who have preceded him in rest but whose spirits remain integral to his story.
