Mercedes-Maricela Morales Ramírez, querida madre, esposa, hermana y amiga, falleció pacíficamente el 18 de febrero de 2026 en Mercedes, Texas, a la edad de 67 años. Nacida el 23 de noviembre de 1958 en México, Maricela personificó la bondad y la calidez a lo largo de su vida, siempre dibujando una sonrisa en los rostros de quienes la rodeaban con su personalidad acogedora y su gran sentido del humor.

Maricela atesoraba cada momento que pasaba con su familia. Fue una madre dedicada a sus seis hijos: Heriberto (Nancy Álvarez) Ramírez Jr., José Roberto (Kayla Medina) Ramírez Morales, Diego (Ángela) Del Toro Ramírez, Susana (Jesús Castañeda) Ramírez y Yuri Ramírez. Su espíritu protector no se limitó a su familia inmediata; fue una persona generosa que abrió su corazón a todos, dejando una huella imborrable en la vida de sus hijos y de todos los que la conocieron.

Además de ser una madre amorosa, Maricela compartió su vida con su devoto esposo, Heriberto Ramírez. Juntos, construyeron un legado de amor que continuará a través de sus doce nietos y cinco bisnietos, a quienes adoraba profundamente.

A Maricela le sobreviven sus hermanos, Roberto Morales, Jorge A. Morales y Juan Manuel Morales, y sus hermanas, Delfina Macías y Sandra Luz Varela. Cada miembro de su familia llevará consigo una parte de su espíritu, atesorando los recuerdos que crearon juntos.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria Salinas de Weslaco - Capilla de los Cielos el 23 de febrero de 2026, de 16:00 a 21:00, seguido del rosario a las 19:00. La misa se celebrará en la Iglesia Católica de San Martín de Porres el 24 de febrero de 2026 a la 13:00, y concluirá con el entierro en el Cementerio de la Ciudad de Weslaco a las 14:00.

Born on November 23, 1958, in Mexico, Maricela embodied kindness and warmth throughout her life, always bringing a smile to the faces of those around her with her welcoming personality and great sense of humor.

Maricela cherished every moment spent with her family. She was a devoted mother to her six children-Heriberto (Nancy Alvarez) Ramirez Jr., Jose Roberto (Kayla Medina) Ramirez Morales, Diego (Angela) Del Toro Ramirez, Susana (Jesus Casteñeda) Ramirez, and Yuri Ramirez. Her nurturing spirit was not limited to her immediate family; she was a giving person who opened her heart to all, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her children and everyone who knew her.

In addition to being a loving mother, Maricela shared her life with her devoted husband, Heriberto Ramirez. Together, they built a legacy of love that will continue through their twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.

Maricela is survived by her brothers, Roberto Morales, Jorge A. Morales, and Juan Manuel Morales, and her sisters, Delfina Macias and Sandra Luz Varela. Each member of her family will carry a piece of her spirit with them, cherishing the memories they created together.

She is preceded in death by her father, Simon Morales, her mother, Rosa P. Morales, and her siblings, Jose Hernandez and Luz Elena Galvan, who welcomed her with open arms into the next life.

Maricela was not only a pillar of strength for her family, but also a beacon of light to her friends and community. Her ability to make others feel at ease and loved is a testament to the remarkable impact she had on all who knew her.

In the days following her passing, family and friends will gather to honor her life. A viewing will take place at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens on February 23, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, following the rosary at 7:00 PM. The Mass will be celebrated at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church on February 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM, concluding with interment at the Weslaco City Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
