She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Ramon Zayas, brothers:Teofilo Guajardo, Ascencion Guajardo, sisters: Leonor Guajardo and Estela Guajardo.

Maria Bertha Zayas is survived by her son: Gustavo Zayas, daughters: Patricia Zayas, (husband) Hector Perez, Rosa Zayas and Aurea Zayas, (Husband), Alejandro Roa, 9 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild, brothers: Prisiliano Guajardo, and Serafin Guajardo, sister: Juanita Guajardo.

Visitation for Maria Bertha Zayas is scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2019, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, October 15, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, TX. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch, TX.
