Brownsville- Maria Felipa Vazquez , 97, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at her residence in Brownsville, Texas.

Mrs. Vazquez was born on August 19, 1927 to Mr. Antonio Vela and Mrs. Cecilia Rios Vela in Mexico.

Mrs. Vazquez is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Antonio Vela and Mrs. Cecilia Rios Vela; her husband Juan Antonio Vazquez; her sons, Roberto Gracia, Juan Manuel Vazquez; her son-in-laws, Roberto Rosas, Santiago Castilleja; her brothers, Heriberto Vela, Simon Vela, Jesus Vela, Guadalupe Vela, Francisco Vela; her sisters, Guadalupe Vela, Teodora Vela.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ramon (Guillermina Pina) Vazquez, Luis Alberto Vazquez, Alfredo Vazquez, Marco Antonio (Maria) Vazquez; her daughters, Bertha Cecilia Vazquez, Martina Mendez, Rosa Patricia (Ramon Guzman) Vazquez, Gricelda Rosas, Martha Alicia Vazquez; her brothers, Antonio Vela, Anastacio Vela; her sissters, Carlota Vela, Esperanza Vela and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Maria Felipa Vazquez is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. A Chapel Service will be celebrated on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. Interment will follow at Guillen Community Cemetery in Brownsville.
