Lubbock- Maria Sara Torres Prieto's journey began on July 12, 1942, in Molina Enriquez, Mexico, where her story of kindness and unwavering warmth first took root. On August 4, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas, the world lost a gentle soul who touched countless lives with her unending compassion and the ever-present smile that lit up her face.
Those who had the blessing of knowing Maria will always remember her as kind, caring, and someone whose laughter and smile brought light even to the most ordinary of days. Her life was defined by her remarkable ability to make those around her feel seen and cherished. She never hesitated to offer comfort or encouragement, and she poured love into her family, her friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Maria's story is also a tapestry of family woven strong and beautiful through both joy and sorrow. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted spouse, Arcadio Olvera. The family she nurtured and guided continues her legacy: her sons, Juan Guajardo and Jesus Prieto Nieto; and her daughters Maria Infante, Isidra Pena, Elena Garcia Guajardo, Celia Tovar, Ana Bertha Olvera, and Elizabeth Olvera. Each carries forward the lessons of resilience, generosity, and grace that defined Maria's every day.
While we mourn Maria's passing, we also honor the loved ones she joins in rest: her husband, Felix Guajardo; her sons, Antonio Guajardo and Narciso Olvera; and her brother, Fabio Torres Prieto. Their memories have remained alive in her heart, and now she is reunited with them, embraced by eternal peace.
Maria's spirit was ever gentle and giving, marked by her reputation for always having a smile on her face. She showed unwavering kindness and concern, enriching her community and forming bonds built on respect and affection. Those around her were drawn not only to her joy but also to her caring nature-a trait that shaped her friendships and defined her role within the family.
