Maria Jesus Saenz

Donna- Maria Jesus Saenz, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by the warmth of her family and love. Born on February 1, 1956, in Mexico, Maria's journey through life was defined by her steadfast dedication to her loved ones and the countless memories they created together.

Maria always cherished her time with family, especially during the holidays when joy filled the air and laughter echoed within the walls of her home. Her kind and welcoming nature drew people to her, making everyone feel at ease, and her great sense of humor would brighten even the cloudiest of days. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others, making lasting friendships wherever she went.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Manuel Saenz, who stood by her side through every step of their journey together. Her legacy continues through her five devoted children: Orlando (Nati) Cardenez, Luis (Joanna) Saenz, Manuel (Aimee) Saenz Jr., Victor "Danny" (Wendolyn) Saenz, and Yvette (David Alfaro) Saenz, all of whom carry forward her spirit of love and kindness. Maria was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life and whom she adored unconditionally.

Maria leaves behind her brothers Armando, Manuel, and Miguel Melendez, and her sisters Griselda, Cristina, and Maria Melendez, who will forever cherish the memories of their sister's laughter and love.

She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Azucena Cardenas, as well as her father, Jose Melendez, her mother, Irene Losoya, and her brothers Nino, Inez, and Jose Melendez. Their spirits welcome her into eternal peace.

In honor of Maria's beautiful life, her family invites everyone to pay their respects at the Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace. The viewing will be held on February 26, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna, Texas on February 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM, leading to her interment at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Donna, Texas at 11:00 AM.

Maria Jesus Saenz's vibrant spirit will be deeply missed, but her love for family and friends will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
