Maria Reyes Estevanes, born on January 6, 1941, in Rio Grande Zacatecas, Mexico, departed this life on January 27, 2026. A cherished member of her family and community, Maria left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Maria is survived by her loving sons: Felix Estevanes Jr. (Theresa), Santos Estevanes (Carmen), Eduardo Estevanes (Cynthia), and Rogelio Estevanes (Adriana); her beloved daughter, Elizabeth Fuentes; her brothers, Gilberto Molina Jr., Gabriel Molina, Vicente Molina, Juan Manuel Molina; sisters, Fermina Perez, Frances Ramirez and Irene Molina. Her family extends to a legacy of love through 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, along with great-great-grandchildren.
Maria is preceded in death by both of her parents, Gilberto Molina and Amalia De Vaquera; her husband, Felix Estevanes, Sr. She is also remembered by her late brother, Nicolas Molina and her late sisters, Aurelia Rodriguez, Ma.Lucia Navarro, Ma. Elena Molina, and Refugia Molina. Each of these individuals shaped Maria's life in meaningful ways, and she carried their memories with her throughout her remarkable journey.
Maria's final services will take place at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Grace. Viewing will occur on February 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary that evening at 7:00 PM. The Mass will be held on February 3, 2026, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, concluding with interment at Highland Memorial Park.
Her legacy is one of resilience, love, and deep familial bonds, which will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and within the community that she embraced. Maria Reyes Estevanes will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit and memories will continue to inspire all who knew her.
