Maria Ortega

Alamo- Maria Guadalupe Ortega, 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas.

Mrs. Ortega was born on January 30, 1935 to Mr. Jose Carlos and Mrs. Herlinda Marquez Carlos in Mexico.

Mrs. Ortega is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jose Carlos and Mrs. Herlinda Marquez Carlos; her husband, Refugio Ortega; her son, Sergio Ortega.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Raul (Rosario) Ortega, Martin (Maria Elena Castillo) Ortega, Carlos (Alma) Ortega, Oscar Ortega (Mary), Juan Jose (Esmeralda) Ortega; her daughters, Estella (Pedro) Cruz, Ofelia (Juan) Rodriguez, Rosie De la Fuente, Patricia (Emilio) Tafolla; 43 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Maria Guadalupe Ortega is scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of Grace in Weslaco. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:30 am at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of Grace in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, Texas.
