Maria C. Medrano

Jul 10, 1947 — Oct 24, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria C. Medrano, who departed this life on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 79. Although her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the memories she created, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Maria was born on July 10, 1947, in Mercedes, Texas, to Narciso Ledesma and Concepcion Godinas. Throughout her life, Maria was a woman whose greatest blessings were found in the love of her family. Her life was a beautiful reflection of devotion, strength, and the special bond that holds a family together.

For 52 wonderful years, Maria shared a loving marriage with her devoted husband, Enrique Medrano. Together, they built a lifetime of treasured memories, weathered life's many seasons, and created a beautiful family that will forever carry their love and legacy forward. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, commitment, and companionship.

As a mother and grandmother, Maria's greatest joy was the family she held so dearly. The love of a mother is a gift that time can never erase, and the warmth of a grandmother's embrace is a memory that lives forever. Her children and grandchildren will carry with them the countless moments, lessons, and expressions of love that made her presence so meaningful.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Narciso Ledesma and Concepcion Godinas; her five brothers, Andres Ledesma, Pedro Ledesma, Felipe Ledesma, Jose Ledesma, and Antonio Ledesma; and her sister, Sabina Garcia. Though their absence was felt throughout her life, her family finds comfort in the thought of a beautiful reunion with those who went before her.

Left to cherish her precious memory is her loving husband of 52 years, Enrique Medrano; her son, Enrique Medrano, Jr. (Georgina Marie); her two daughters, Criselda Ornelas (Pedro) and Roxann De La Torre (Ernesto Perez, Jr.); and her three sisters, Guadalupe De La Torre, Maria Luisa Marquez, and Maria Garcia.

Maria also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren, Camille Ornelas, Matthew Ornelas, Emily D. Medrano, Jacob H. Medrano, Noah A. Medrano, Adelynn Perez, Mileena Perez, and Ernesto Perez, III, each of whom will forever carry a special piece of her heart.

While saying goodbye to someone so deeply loved is never easy, Maria's family finds comfort in knowing that a life filled with love is a life that will never be forgotten. Her memory will live on in every family gathering, every shared story, every familiar smile, and every moment when her loved ones feel her presence in their hearts.

Maria's life was a blessing, her love was a gift, and her memory will forever be a treasure. Though her family must now learn to walk through life without her physical presence, the love she gave will continue to guide them, comfort them, and remind them that the bonds of family reach far beyond this earthly life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa - Chapel of the Angels, with a 7:00 PM Rosary.

A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mercedes, Texas. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, where Maria will be laid to rest.

As family and friends gather to celebrate Maria's beautiful life, may they find peace in the cherished memories they shared and comfort in knowing that love does not end with goodbye. Her earthly presence may be gone, but her spirit will forever live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.

Rest peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father, Maria. Your work on earth is complete, your love will never fade, and your memory will remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.
