Weslaco- Maria Medelez Rios, 88, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her residence in Weslaco.

Mrs. Rios was born on January 2, 1937 to Mr. Amado Medelez and Mrs. Ana Vargas in Weslaco, Texas.

Mrs. Rios is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Amado Medelez and Mrs. Ana Vargas; her son Javier Rios; his sister, Josefa Martinez.

Left to cherish his memories are her husband, Victor Rios; her sons, Carlos Rios, Victor Rios III; her daughters, Diana Rios Serna, Cynthia Rios; her sister, Manuela Garcia, Guadalupe Rivera; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Maria Medelez Rios is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. Visitation will continue Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 9:00 am to 12:30 pm with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
