Maria M. Rodriguez

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Maria M. Rodriguez, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2026, at the age of 89.

Maria was born on June 4, 1937, in Mexico to Roberto Martinez and Lupita Cabrera. Throughout her 89 years, Maria was a woman of unwavering love, strength, and devotion. She cherished her family deeply and found her greatest joy in the moments shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her loving heart, gentle spirit, and the warmth she brought to those around her will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Maria is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roberto Martinez and Lupita Cabrera; her husband, Carlos Rodriguez; her daughters, Leticia Rodriguez and Guadalupe Rodriguez; her brothers, Roberto Martinez and Alfonso Martinez; and her sister, Mirta Rodriguez.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love through her surviving children: Rodrigo Rodriguez, Sergio Rodriguez, Charlie Rodriguez, Sylvia Mojaras (Juan+), Cruz Vela (Arturo), Veronica Gonzalez (Mark), and Susana Chavez; as well as her sister, Julia Sepulveda. Maria also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.

Though her family will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort knowing that Maria is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord and reunited with those who went before her. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, the lessons she shared, and the love she gave so freely.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, Texas.

Funeral services are under the direction of Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
