With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Imelda Reyna, who entered eternal rest on Friday, November 6, 2026, in McAllen, Texas.
Maria Imelda Reyna was born on September 25, 1953 in Hidalgo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Eduviges Cruz and Maria Luisa Alvarez. Throughout her life, Imelda was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Imelda's greatest treasures were the people she held close to her heart. The love she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren created precious memories that will be cherished for generations. Her presence brought warmth to family gatherings, and the special moments spent together will forever be remembered with love and gratitude.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eduviges Cruz and Maria Luisa Alvarez, and her loving husband, Emeterio Reyna, with whom she is now reunited in eternal peace.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her loving son, Raul Emeterio Reyna; her three daughters, Jessica Reyna Garcia, Erica Reyna, and Jessenia Reyna; her five brothers, Jose Luis Cruz, Francisco Cruz, Jesus Cruz, Thomas Cruz, and Eliazar Cruz; and her three sisters, Inocencia Cruz, Ma. Idalia Cruz, and Ma. Elena Cruz. She also leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren and three precious great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry a special part of her love and legacy in their hearts.
Although her earthly journey has come to an end, the love Imelda gave so freely will never fade. Her family will find comfort in the memories they shared, the lessons learned through her life, and the unbreakable bond of love that continues even beyond death. While her absence leaves an emptiness that words cannot express, her memory will remain a blessing and a source of strength to all who loved her.
A visitation honoring the life of Maria Imelda Reyna will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery, where Imelda will be laid to rest.
"Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the love they gave, the memories we treasure, and the hearts they touched forever."
May Maria Imelda Reyna rest in God's eternal peace, surrounded by His everlasting love, until the beautiful day when we are reunited once again.
