Maria Del Socorro Gonzales

It is with deep reverence and heartfelt compassion that we announce the passing of Maria Del Socorro Gonzales, a beloved mother, devoted wife, and cherished friend, on February 17, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on November 8, 1961, in Dr. Coss Nuevo Leon Mexico to Antonio Salinas and Ofelia Dimas.

Maria found fulfillment in her work as a salesclerk, where her kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. She created lasting connections within her community, and her laughter and compassion will be sorely missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded death by her parents, Antonio and Ofelia Salinas; one brother, brother, Mario Salinas.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Heginio Gonzales; three beloved sons, Eric Flores, Gene Gonzales, Justin Gonzales; two brothers, Artemio Salinas, Romaldo Salinas; two sisters, Enedelia Longoria and Maria Kirkwood. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Juliana Marie Gonzales and Giannna Bea Gonzales. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support will forever remain etched in their hearts, as well as the hearts of all who knew her.

In celebration of Maria's life, we invite family and friends to join us in honoring her memory. A viewing will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM. The following day, Saturday, February 28, 2026, a Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

As we gather to reflect on the beautiful memories we shared with Maria, let us celebrate a life lived with grace and love. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she will be remembered lovingly by all whose lives she touched.
