Maria Genoveva Gonzalez

Con profundo pesar, pero con la esperanza y el consuelo que brinda la fe, la familia González anuncia el fallecimiento de su querida María Genoveva González, quien partió al encuentro del Señor el 8 de agosto de 2026, en Weslaco, Texas, a la edad de 84 años.

María nació el 7 de abril de 1942 en México, hija de Víctor Ríos y Dolores Jiménez. A lo largo de sus 84 años de vida, fue una mujer cuya mayor riqueza se encontraba en su familia. Su amor, fortaleza y dedicación dejaron una huella imborrable en cada generación que tuvo la bendición de llamarla madre, abuela, bisabuela y tatarabuela.

Fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Víctor Ríos y Dolores Jiménez; su amado esposo, Juan González Sotelo; sus hermanos, Florencio Ríos y Juan Ríos; y sus hermanas, María Lucía Ríos, Demetria Ríos, Natividad Ríos, David Ríos e Ignacia Ríos.

María deja para honrar y atesorar su memoria a sus cuatro hijos, Juan González, Leobardo González, Horacio González y Hugo González; sus cuatro hijas, Amalia Peña, Catalina Bernales, Guadalupe García y Lorena Venegas; su hermano, Francisco Ríos; y su hermana, Nicolasa Ríos.

Su hermoso legado familiar continúa a través de sus 34 nietos, 77 bisnietos y 23 tataranietos. Cada uno de ellos representa una parte de la vida que María construyó y del inmenso amor que sembró durante tantos años. Su recuerdo permanecerá vivo en las historias compartidas, las enseñanzas transmitidas de generación en generación y, sobre todo, en el amor y la unión de la gran familia que deja atrás.

Aunque su partida deja un profundo vacío, sus seres queridos encuentran consuelo al saber que María ha concluido su jornada terrenal y ahora descansa en la presencia del Señor, reuniéndose nuevamente con su amado esposo y con aquellos familiares que partieron antes que ella. Su vida será recordada con cariño, gratitud y profundo amor.

La velación se llevará a cabo el miércoles 12 de agosto de 2026, en la Funeraria Salinas de Elsa Capilla de Los Angeles con un Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p. m.

Cumpliendo con sus deseos, la Sra. González será trasladada a Ocampo, Tamaulipas, México, donde recibirá cristiana sepultura en el Panteón Ejido Paso Real de Morelos.

Los arreglos funerarios están bajo la dirección de Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.

With profound sorrow, yet with the hope and comfort that faith provides, the Gonzalez family announces the passing of their beloved Maria Genoveva Gonzalez, who went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 84.

Maria was born on April 7, 1942, in Mexico, to Victor Rios and Dolores Jimenez. Throughout her 84 years of life, she was a woman whose greatest treasure was her family. Her love, strength, and devotion left an everlasting impression on every generation blessed to call her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Rios and Dolores Jimenez; her beloved husband, Juan Gonzalez Sotelo; her brothers, Florencio Rios and Juan Rios; and her sisters, Maria Lucia Rios, Demetria Rios, Natividad Rios, David Rios, and Ignacia Rios.

Maria leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory her four sons, Juan Gonzalez, Leobardo Gonzalez, Horacio Gonzalez, and Hugo Gonzalez; her four daughters, Amalia Peña, Catalina Bernales, Guadalupe Garcia, and Lorena Venegas; her brother, Francisco Rios; and her sister, Nicolasa Rios.

Her beautiful family legacy continues through her 34 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Each of them represents a part of the life Maria built and the tremendous love she shared throughout the years. Her memory will live on through the stories they share, the lessons passed down from generation to generation, and, above all, through the love and unity of the large family she leaves behind.

Although her passing leaves a profound emptiness, her loved ones find comfort in knowing that Maria has completed her earthly journey and now rests in the presence of the Lord, reunited with her beloved husband and those family members who went before her. Her life will forever be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep affection.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa - Chapel of the Angels, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Gonzalez will be transferred to Ocampo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, where she will be laid to rest at Panteón Ejido Paso Real de Morelos.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
