Marco Antonio Trevino

Marco Antonio Treviño, age 72, of Progreso, TX passed away on August 21, 2026, at his residence. Born on February 4th, 1954, in Rio Rico, TX he was the child of Antonio Treviño and Odilia Alvarado.

Marco grew up in Progreso and Married Juanita there. He worked as a Mechanic and Tire Technician for many years.

Outside of work, Marco loved cook outs/gatherings with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed calling his kids and talking about the craziness of his day, always sharing a good laugh. He was known for working on cars and cussing thru the whole process, usually with a few nut and bolts left. He enjoyed working side by side with his son David and showing his grandkids how to work on cars. Marco also enjoyed helping his Son Marco Jr, working in his yard and making sure things were taken care of when he was out of state working. Always stopping by Isela's to check on her and see how the grandkids and great grandkids were doing. He enjoyed spending time at his sister's Olga & Aida, And His Mother " Guelita Lile" and visiting with family, sharing some pan dulce and enjoying his Black coffee. "Dad" as most of his family called him, loved his fragrant cigar and a cold one after a long day of work.

Marco is preceded in death by his spouse Juanita Treviño, Brother Luis Treviño, Brothers in law Francisco Galvan and Claudio Salinas.

He is survived by his mother, Odilia Alvarado and his children Marco A. Jr. & Isela Treviño, Beatriz A. & Arturo Cabrera, David E. & Alma Treviño, Diana M. & Osvaldo Saucedo, Angelica & Juan Cerda, Araceli Treviño, Emiliano Trevino, and Manuel Treviño. Marco had 24 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Marco also leaves behind two sisters, Olga Galvan and Aida Salinas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Janie Galvan his niece, for always being there by his side when he wasn't feeling good, making sure he ate and keeping the family informed of any changes or concerns. Thank you for loving him, even on the rough days, we appreciate it.

A service to celebrate Marco's life will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Faith, located at 2929 W Expwy 83, Weslaco, TX 78596.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
