Luis Angel Olvera

With profound sadness and hearts filled with cherished memories, the family of Luis Angel Olvera announces his passing on September 22, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 62.

Luis was born on October 31, 1963, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Clemente and Madrona Olvera. Throughout his life, Luis was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, a caring brother, and a beloved uncle. His greatest joy was found in the family he loved so deeply.

For 45 beautiful years, Luis shared his life with his loving wife, Maria De La Luz Olvera. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, memories, and a bond that endured through the many seasons of life. The years they shared will forever remain a testament to their love and devotion to one another.

Luis held an especially precious place in his heart for his daughters, Angela Marie Olvera (Roberto Pedroza, Jr.), Gloria Lee Olvera (Aaron Tomas Salinas), and Sarah Lynn Olvera. His daughters meant the world to him, and the love and pride he had for them could never be measured in words. No matter how much time passed, they would always be his girls.

He was also blessed with his grandson, Nikola Patrick Estrada, who brought another special kind of happiness and pride into his life. The memories Nikola shared with his grandfather will remain a treasured part of Luis' legacy.

Luis is also survived by his brother, Clemente Olvera, Jr. (Ramona); several other brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews who will lovingly remember their uncle and the moments they were fortunate enough to share with him.

Luis leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind a lifetime of love woven into the hearts of his family. His familiar smile, his presence, his laughter, and the countless moments shared around family will be deeply missed. Although saying goodbye is never easy, those who loved Luis can find comfort in knowing that the love he gave during his lifetime does not end with his passing. It continues through his wife, his daughters, his grandson, and every person whose life was touched by his.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa - Chapel of the Angels.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Luis Angel Olvera will be cremated at a later date.

May his family find strength in the beautiful life they shared with him and comfort in knowing that while Luis may no longer walk beside them, the love he gave them will remain forever.
