His welcoming spirit and great sense of humor were the hallmarks of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Luis Angel's journey began in the tender embrace of his parents, Juan Olivares and Aguida Estrada, now departed, who instilled in him values that carried through each chapter of his life. He grew up alongside his siblings, sharing bonds crafted through time with his late brother Julian Vega, and his living siblings Francisco Luis Rodriguez, Frances Vega, and Marylou Lopez. Each family tie was a thread in the rich tapestry of his heritage.

In the dance of domestic life, Luis Angel was a devoted husband to Hortencia Olivares, a partnership that spanned five decades, distinguished by shared joys, trials, and an unwavering love that became the foundation for their family. Together, they nurtured a legacy through their children: Ismael Segovia (married to Carmen), Jesse Segovia (married to Sugei), Luis A. "Louie" Olivarez, Jr. (married to Larissa), David Olivarez, and four other sons who each carry forward his spirit and values. His home echoed with the laughter and vitality of his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a living testament to his role as a patriarch who cherished family above all.
