It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luciano Almanza Jr., who departed this world on July 29, 2025, at University Health Systems in San Antonio. Born in Weslaco on April 9, 1977, Luciano embodied the essence of joy and warmth, carving out a life that was not only lived fully but shared generously with those he loved.
A true character, Luciano was the life of any gathering-outgoing, fearless, and effortlessly magnetic. He was never content with the sidelines; he made it his mission to ensure no one felt left out. His vibrant spirit attracted friends from all walks of life, his laughter echoing long after the festivities concluded. He was a family man, fiercely devoted to his wife of 27 years, Juliet Salinas, and devoted to his children, Andrew Onaesis, Jayla Mae, and Janiah Marie. The love for his family extended endlessly, including his dear sisters-Diana Casarez, Bilma Ramirez, and Selina Almanza-who meant everything to him, and whose bonds were stronger than any challenge they faced. Each moment spent together was a cherished gift, and his loving nature extended even to his precious grandbaby, Kaizen Kyrie Luciano Cardenas, whose bright future he looked forward to watching unfold.
Luciano's heart beat in rhythm with his passions. Whether it was tending to his immaculate yard, where he found peace and solace, or showcasing his culinary prowess at family BBQs, he relished in every opportunity to connect with loved ones over delicious food. His truck, which he lovingly maintained, was not just a vehicle but a second love, reflecting his desire for perfection in all ventures. When the night fell, his playful spirit soared during karaoke sessions, where joyous melodies wove through laughter and camaraderie. Additionally, his artistic soul found expression in drawing, a medium through which he brought beauty to life whirling around him.
Luciano will be dearly missed and remembered as a beacon of light and love. He was preceded in death by both parents, Luciano Almanza and Lydia Lopez, as well as his brothers, Joel and Orlando Almanza.
