Lucia Lopez Zapata

Con profunda tristeza y amoroso recuerdo, la familia de Lucia Lopez Zapata anuncia su fallecimiento el 25 de septiembre de 2026, en Weslaco, Texas, a la edad de 50 años. Rodeada del amor que cultivó a lo largo de su vida, Lucia partió para estar con el Señor, dejando un hermoso legado de amor, fe, familia y recuerdos inolvidables.

Lucia nació el 28 de mayo de 1976 en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México, hija de Olegario Lopez y Benita Zapata. Fue una amorosa esposa, dedicada madre, querida abuela, hija, hermana y amiga. Su mayor alegría fue siempre su familia, y el inmenso amor que les brindó continuará viviendo en cada uno de ellos.

Lucia fue precedida en la muerte por su querido padre, Olegario Lopez.

Quedan para honrar y atesorar su memoria su esposo, Maria Alberto Sordia; su hijo, Josue Sordia (Jahiara Baez); y sus siete hijas, Casandra Sordia Martinez (Jose), Aylin Sordia, Kayla Sordia (Kyle Garcia), Ximena Sordia, Natalia Sordia (Gualberto Mena), Rebeca Sordia y Elizabeth Sordia.

También le sobreviven su querida madre, Benita Zapata; sus dos hermanos, Jose Guadalupe Lopez y Olegario Lopez; y sus cuatro hermanas, Isabel Lopez, Angelica Zapata, Felipa Vela y Sonia Fiscal.

Su recuerdo también vivirá por siempre en el corazón de sus cinco queridos nietos, Aysleen Martinez, Ariana Martinez, Lyla J. Mena, Gualberto Mena III y Thiago N. Garcia, quienes llenaron su vida de inmensa alegría y amor.

Aunque la jornada terrenal de Lucia ha llegado a su fin, el amor que brindó tan generosamente permanecerá para siempre en los corazones de su familia. With profound sadness and loving remembrance, the family of Lucia Lopez Zapata announces her passing on September 25, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 50. Surrounded by the love she cultivated throughout her life, Lucia peacefully went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of family, faith, and cherished memories.

Lucia was born on May 28, 1976, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Olegario Lopez and Benita Zapata. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother, beloved daughter, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy was her family, and the love she shared with them will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Lucia is preceded in death by her beloved father, Olegario Lopez.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Maria Alberto Sordia; her son, Josue Sordia (Jahiara Baez); and her seven daughters, Casandra Sordia Martinez (Jose), Aylin Sordia, Kayla Sordia (Kyle Garcia), Ximena Sordia, Natalia Sordia (Gualberto Mena), Rebeca Sordia, and Elizabeth Sordia.

She is also survived by her loving mother, Benita Zapata; her two brothers, Jose Guadalupe Lopez and Olegario Lopez; and her four sisters, Isabel Lopez, Angelica Zapata, Felipa Vela, and Sonia Fiscal.

Lucia's memory will also be lovingly carried forward by her five precious grandchildren, Aysleen Martinez, Ariana Martinez, Lyla J. Mena, Gualberto Mena III, and Thiago N. Garcia, who brought tremendous happiness and love into her life.

Although Lucia's earthly journey has come to an end, the love she gave so freely remains in the hearts of her family. Her smile, kindness, strength, and the countless memories shared with those closest to her will forever be treasured. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
