Lidia C. Gonzalez

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lidia C. Gonzalez, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 7, 2026, at the age of 70. Lidia was born on May 17, 1955, in Rio Rico, Texas, and she dedicated her life to caring for her family.

Lidia was a cornerstone of strength and warmth, embodying the spirit of resilience and devotion. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering love for her children. Lidia's nurturing nature and gentle laughter brought joy to all who knew her, and her legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Alfonso Cantu and Timotea Garcia.

Lidia is survived by her children; Ismael G Cantu (Alberto Ramirez), Israel Gonzalez, Timotea Gonzalez Jr., Maria Idalia Garcia (Agustin); siblings; Juan Cantu and Elvira Cantu; and nine grandchildren.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace, allowing all who wish to pay their respects.

A Funeral Mass will be offered in her honor at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, celebrating her faith and the light she brought into the lives of others. Lidia will then be laid to rest at the Weslaco City Cemetery.

As we gather to remember Lidia's life, let us celebrate her indomitable spirit and the love she gave so generously. Though she will be profoundly missed, her memory will guide us and inspire us to cherish our loved ones as she did. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she radiated throughout her life.
