Weslaco- Laura M R Cavazos, of Weslaco, Texas, passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on October 13, 1958, in Weslaco, Texas.

Laura will be remembered as a caring and loving woman whose life was centered on the people she cherished most. She loved her family deeply and was known as a woman of God, humble in spirit and generous in heart. She was always caring for people and making sure they were okay, offering comfort, concern, and steady love to those around her. Her kindness and devotion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Felix Cavazos Jr. She also leaves behind her children: her daughter, Alejandra Cavazos and her husband, Federico; her sons, Ramon Nonato Pena and his wife, Zaira, Ricardo Pena and his wife, Angelica, and Enrique Cavazos and his wife, Lyndsay. Laura is also survived by her father, Jose Gil Rivera; her mother, Antonia Martinez; her brothers, Maximiliano Exiga, lovingly known as "Chico," and Loreto Cordiano; and her sisters, Ana Alonzo and Elena Maria Riverea. Surrounded by the love of her family, Laura's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her and were blessed by her care.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens, 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, TX 78599. A rosary will be prayed that evening from 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the same location. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas.
