Weslaco, Texas - Kenneth Haworth Crabtree, 91, passed away to be with the Lord on January 4, 2024 at Knapp Medical Center.

He was born in Caldwell, Idaho, the son of the late John Turner Crabtree and Eunice Patricia Haworth. They lived in Emmett, Idaho until he left for college in California. He married Sylvia Winifred Iredale in Napa on August 30, 1953. He graduated from San Francisco State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree on June 11, 1954.

Ken joined the Navy and was commissioned in May of 1955 as an Ensign and was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade in 1956. In 1955, twins Scott and Brenda were born in Vallejo, California. Three years later his daughter Joyce was born, and three years after that his daughter Cynthia joined the family.

Ken later married Judy Hazelwood in Monterey, California in 1971. Her children Tammy and Robin also joined his growing family. They started a dry-cleaning business in Carmel and built a house to share with their children in Carmel Valley before moving to Twain Harte, California in 1980. They loved to go fishing at Pinecrest Lake where many days were spent on the boat. Ken and Judy became successful Real Estate Agents in the Twain Harte area and enjoyed a long career and many friends. They both loved to travel in their RV and took many cruises over the years. In 2014, they both retired, and after traveling the country for several years, they settled in Weslaco, Texas in 2019, where they continued their love of bird watching.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Judy of 52 years, his children Scott (Beth) of Colorado, Brenda (Larry) of Texas, Joyce (Bob) of California, Cynthia (John) of Arizona, Tammy (Bernie) of California, and Robin of California. His numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren loved him and will miss his love in return. His dog Murphy is still by his chair waiting for him to return.
