Juanita Fernandez

December 14, 1958 — May 25, 2026

With profound sorrow and heartfelt reverence, we announce the passing of Juanita Fernandez, a woman whose life was a beacon of kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication. Born on December 14, 1958, in the gentle embrace of Edinburg, Texas, Juanita's journey came to a peaceful close on May 25, 2026, in Weslaco, Texas. Her departure leaves a void felt deeply by all who had the honor of knowing her, yet her spirit remains immortal in the hearts of those she cherished.

Juanita was the embodiment of grace and resilience. Known for her kind and welcoming nature, she endeared herself to family and friends alike through a life marked by ceaseless hard work and a radiant sense of humor that could uplift even the most somber moments. Above all titles and accolades, she was, unequivocally, the best mother, sister, and grandmother - a testament to the love and devotion that defined her existence.

Her life's celebrations- a visitation-will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of Faith, located at 2929 W. Expressway 83, Weslaco, Texas, with a 1:00 PM Rosary. These sacred gatherings will mark the final opportunity to honor and commemorate the remarkable imprint Juanita left behind.

Juanita was born to Ruben Fernandez and Maria Benita Rodriguez Fernandez, whose legacies she carried forward with dignity. Though she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Ricardo Fernandez, her memory thrives through her surviving family and beloved friends.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters: Sara Isabel Luna; Laura Beatriz Varela and her husband Alberto; Maricela Luna; and Gabriela Luna, joined in marriage to Jesus Manuel Aguilar. Her legacy also flourishes through her grandchildren, Jesus Manuel Aguilar, Jr., Gregorio Gael Aguilar, and Agustin Daniel Aguilar, each bearing the torch of her enduring love.

Juanita's familial circle expands to include her brothers Ruben Fernandez, Jr. and his wife Martha, Rene Fernandez, Rodolfo Fernandez and his wife Andrea, and Roel Fernandez; and her treasured sisters: Irene Fernandez, Leticia Prieto along with her husband Martin, Isabel Bautista and her husband Fabian, Marivel Fernandez, and Evangelina Noriega accompanied by her husband Jorge.

Each life touched by Juanita's presence was enriched by her gentle spirit and boundless generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and nurture the souls of her family and friends.

In this time of mourning, may we find solace in reflecting upon the extraordinary life Juanita Fernandez led-a life that exemplified the truest essence of love, commitment, and joy. Her memory is a luminous thread woven into the fabric of those who knew her, a light which will forever shine bright.

As per her wishes, Mrs. Fernandez will be cremated at a later date.
