Juana R. Montes

With deep sorrow and hearts filled with love and gratitude, the family of Juana R. Montes announces her peaceful passing into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 80.

Juana was born on May 15, 1946, in Weslaco, Texas, to Guadalupe Robledo and Anita Cruz. Her life was one defined by faith, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle presence and caring heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

For 56 beautiful years, Juana shared her life with her loving husband, Ruben Montes. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories. Through every season of life, their marriage remained a testament to commitment, companionship, and enduring love.

Above all, Juana treasured her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Although her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will remain with them forever.

Juana is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Robledo and Anita Cruz; her beloved son, Miguel Montes; her brothers, Antonio Robledo and Jose Robledo; and her sister, Alicia Muñoz.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 56 years, Ruben Montes; her son, Ruben Montes, Jr. (Norma); her daughters, Anna Marie Robledo (Antonio) and Susie Aguilar (Rolando); her brothers, Roberto Robledo, Jorge Robledo, Tomas Robledo, and Alfredo Robledo; and her sisters, Lupita Rodriguez and Mary Ann Banda.

Juana's memory will also live on through her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were a tremendous source of happiness and pride in her life.

Though saying goodbye is never easy, Juana's family takes comfort in their faith and in knowing that she has been reunited with the loved ones who went before her, especially her beloved son, Miguel. Her earthly journey has ended, but the love, lessons, memories, and faith she leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of her family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park.

May Juana's beautiful soul rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord, and may her family find comfort in knowing that a life so deeply loved will never truly be forgotten.
