Juan Manuel Rivas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juan Manuel Rivas, a devoted father, loving brother, and cherished friend, who departed this world peacefully on August 5, 2026, Born on June 18, 1958, in Brownsville, Juan lived a life rich in simplicity, warmth, and love for the outdoors. As a retired fisherman and shrimper, he dedicated his life to the bountiful waters of the Gulf, where he found joy in the rhythm of the tides and of his fellow fishermen.

Juan was a man whose life revolved around his family. He is survived by his son, Juan Manuel Jr. Rivas, and daughter-in-law, Norma, as well as his beloved siblings: Maria Garcia, Miguel Rivas Jr., Yolanda Carrizales, Sylvia A. Flores, and Lucila Weber. His spirit will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate to know him and to witness his unwavering love for family and nature.

A public viewing will be held August 11, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In honor of Juan's life, a Rosary will be held at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Heavens in Brownsville on August 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

As we gather to remember Juan, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family. May he rest in peace, embraced by the gentle waves that were so dear to his heart.
