Brownsville - Josefina Gutierrez Sosa, 88, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 t her residence.
Mrs. Sosa was born April 22, 1934 in San Carlos, Tamaulipas, Mexico, daughter of Cruz Gutierrez and Soledad Martinez. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carlos Gutierrez Martinez.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Modesto Sosa; children, Alma Sosa-Garza, Jose Modesto Sosa Jr., Roberto Sosa, Jaime Sosa, Marvelia Sosa Vasquez, Miguel A. Sosa, Gabriel Sosa and her sister, Socorro Gutierrez Martinez. Also surviving her are 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Heavens. Funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park
