Jose Jesus Tamayo

Donna, Texas - Jose Jesus Tamayo "Cuate",74, passed away to be with the Lord on September 29, 2024, at Grande Terrace Nursing Home in McAllen.

Mr. Tamayo was born on May 25, 1950, in Donna, TX to Mr. Francisco Tamayo & Mrs. Juana Sanchez. He made many friends from Texas, where he grew up and from Chicago, IL where he resided for 5 years. Mr. Tamayo graduated from the University of Texas Pan American with a bachelor's degree in Spanish. He was an avid reader, classic car enthusiast, a man of strong faith, a Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys fan and most of all a loving uncle.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Francisco & Juana Tamayo; his twin brother, Juan Tamayo.

Jose J. Tamayo is survived by 2 brothers, Jose N. Tamayo (Lisa+), Jose D. Tamayo (Francisca); 2 sisters, Teresa Fraga (Refugio) & Manuela Castillo (Ramiro). Also surviving are numerous nieces & nephews.

Visitation for Jose J. Tamayo is scheduled for 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2024, at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens with a 7:00 PM Rosary. A 2:00 PM Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, TX.
