Jose Eligio Madrigal

December 11, 1943 — February 22, 2026

Jose Eligio Madrigal, a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this life peacefully on February 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on December 11, 1943, in Elsa, Texas, Jose embodied the values of hard work, integrity, and family commitment throughout his life.

Jose dedicated his professional life to the field of accounting, earning a bachelor's degree that would serve as the foundation for his successful career. His meticulous nature and keen financial acumen made him a respected figure among his peers and a reliable guide for those who sought his advice. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jose was also a proud Army Veteran, having served his country with honor and dedication.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Eligio and Dorotea Madrigal; his brothers, Gregorio Madrigal,Cristino Madrigal; three sisters, Esperanza Rodriguez, Juanita Madrigal and Irma Gallegos.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Odilia Madrigal; his children, Jose Madrigal III (Mayra), Margot Madrigal, and Monique Madrigal; his sister, Hortencia Garza; and his cherished grandchildren, Jose Eligio Madrigal IV and Mia Sky Madrigal. Jose's spirit will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with those around him. His family will forever cherish the memories of laughter, lessons, and the unwavering support he provided.

A series of ceremonies will honor Jose's life and legacy. Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing at Salinas Funeral Home Elsa- Chapel of the Angels on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM followed a 7:00 PM Rosary, reflecting the deep faith that guided Jose throughout his life.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, Texas, a place sacred to Jose and his family. Following the Mass, the interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, where Jose will be laid to rest, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warmth of family. Military auspices are under the direction of Sgt. Benito Alaniz, Post #7473 of Elsa, TX.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Jose Eligio Madrigal, let us remember a man who embodied love, strength, and resilience. His legacy will forever inspire those who knew him, reminding us to cherish each moment and to uphold the bonds of family and friendship. May he rest in eternal peace.
