It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jose Arturo Luna, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who departed this life peacefully due to natural causes on February 26, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on December 16, 1954, in Madero Tamaulipas Mexico, Jose lived a life rich in integrity, love, and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Encarnacion Luna and Maria De Jesus Castro.
Jose is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Claudia M. Luna, who stood by his side through every season of life; his son, Genaro M. Luna (Tanya); four daughters, Rachel L. Dolan (Emiliano), Kathy L. Contreras (Jesse), Lizette L. Altamirano (Michael), Lorena L. Medina (Matthew); three brothers and three sisters. Also surviving are 15 granddaughters and 9 grandsons.
His journey was marked by hard work and dedication. Throughout his years, he embodied the values of perseverance, kindness, and unwavering support, enriching the lives of family, friends, and colleagues alike.
The legacy of Jose Arturo Luna will be celebrated with reverence and love. A public viewing will take place on Monday, March 3, 2026, at the Salinas Funeral Home Elsa - Chapel of the Angels, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. In honoring his life, family and friends are encouraged to share their memories and stories that reflect the light he brought into their lives.
The following day, on Tuesday, March 4, 2026, we invite all to join in a Mass celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Villa, Texas, at 1:00 PM, as we come together in prayer and reflection on the life of this remarkable man. Following the Mass, Jose will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park at 2:00 PM, where he will find eternal peace.
As we gather to honor Jose's memory, let us reflect on the love and wisdom he shared during his lifetime. While we mourn the loss of his gentle spirit, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of his life-a life that will forever remain in our hearts. May God grant him eternal rest, and may we find solace in the cherished memories we hold dear.
