With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jose Martin Ipina, Jr., who departed this world on February 1, 2026. Born on November 27, 1982, in Weslaco, Texas, Jose was a beloved figure in our community, known for his unwavering dedication to education and his compassionate spirit. As a teacher, he touched the lives of countless students, inspiring them to reach their full potential and imparting the values of kindness, perseverance, and curiosity.
Jose is preceded in death by his mother, Orfelinda Ipiña.
He is survived by his loving children, Kristopher Joe Ipiña, Leelee Karenina Ipiña and Kayla Angelique Ipiña; his father, Jose Martin Ipiña, Sr.; two sisters, Melissa Marie Ipiña and Jeanette Blanco.
Jose leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and laughter. He was a beacon of hope and support for those around him, always quick to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His love for teaching and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others will forever be remembered.
Jose's life will be celebrated, and his contributions acknowledged during a series of services at Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa. A Viewing will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM allowing family and friends to share their memories and reflect on the beautiful life he led. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Salinas Funeral Home Elsa - Chapel of the Angels with interment to follow at Weslaco City Cemetery, where all are invited to gather and honor Jose's remarkable journey.
Let us remember Jose not with sorrow but with gratitude and joy for having had the privilege to know him. His spirit will live on in the lessons he taught and in the hearts he touched, and he will forever be missed by family, friends, and former students alike.
In this time of loss, let us come together to celebrate the life of Jose Martin Ipina, Jr. an exceptional father, a loving son,brother, a great teacher and a friend to many.
